Charis is an esteemed Orthopedic Surgeon actively engaged in his practice, alongside his role as a scientific collaborator with prominent private clinics in Athens. His specialised expertise lies in performing orthopedic procedures, predominantly centered around total joint replacements for major joints such as the hip and knee, addressing sports-related injuries, fractures, and a spectrum of general orthopedic conditions.

 

In addition to his surgical proficiency, Charis demonstrates a dedicated commitment to the advancement of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSK-US) techniques, catering to both pediatric and adult patients. His diligent pursuit of excellence in this promising scientific domain aligns with international advancements. He underwent comprehensive training in MSK-US within the Greek medical landscape.

 

His academic journey began with his admission to the distinguished Medical School of Patras, affiliated with the University of Peloponnese. Evidencing remarkable performance in national examinations, he graduated with honors in 2011. His subsequent one-year tenure at the Air Force Military Hospital in Athens further enriched his medical experience.

 

His comprehensive training encompassed a diverse array of disciplines including Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, General Surgery, Trauma, Orthopedics for both pediatric and adult patients, Orthopedic Oncology, and Sports Medicine. Charis achieved the prestigious title of Orthopedic Surgeon in 2020, following successful completion of the rigorous written and oral State examinations held in Athens, Greece.

 

Since 2016, he has served as a Team Doctor in the Greek Superleague, initially with AEK FC and, since 2025, with Panathinaikos FC—both leading professional football clubs based in Athens, Greece and competing at the highest national and international level. Within this elite sporting environment, he provides specialized management of sports-related injuries, utilizing advanced ultrasound techniques to enhance diagnostic accuracy and continuous monitoring for professional athletes.

His contributions extend beyond clinical practice. He has contributed scholarly articles to international and Greek scientific journals, alongside presentations at esteemed conferences. His dedication to advancing the medical field is both admirable and invaluable.
